Meet the Artist

From a young age, I was captivated by the world of visual arts. Growing up surrounded by vibrant colors and diverse cultures, I found my passion in capturing the essence of figures and fashion through illustration. My early experiences in art classes ignited a lifelong love for creativity and self-expression.

I discovered that I could draw well when my 5th grade teacher ask me to do a historical illustration on the scratch board.

My abilities began to emerge during the time I took a correspondence art course called 'Famous Artist Schools' from Connecticut. Being born in Panama and began at 10 years living in the USA. Admiring the fashion trends of beautiful women on magazines, pop posters and fashion illustration from newspapers. Inspiration is what I stilled have in my heart to express my self in fine art and illustration.

I pursued my formal education in Fine Arts, where I honed my skills in diverse mediums. My studies allowed me to explore graphic design and illustration, significantly shaping my artistic voice. The academic environment encouraged experimentation and innovation, leading to a deeper understanding of visual storytelling.

As I mention, my education on ART was more than formal. When I began taking the corrrespondence course while still in high school, living in Corpus Christi, Texas was the real beginning of my art profession.

At the month of April, 1970, I moved to Fairfield, CA to live with my aunt. Later that year, I joined my brother who just came back from Vietnam on a Naval carrier. We got our first apartment in a nice area of Oakland, CA. Music of different cultures brougnt to draw people for sure.

I began taking art classes at the local colleges like Laney and Alameda. By 1973, I began my first full-time fashion illustration position with Koret of California in San Francisco. How I got that job is another story. I was replacing an artist named Anita, (a German artist that needed a year off).

In the summer of 1974 -77 I began attending the Academy of Art. I was fortune enought to find a steady job as a bartender from the Navy. I I graduated and received a Bachelor of Fine Art degree.

Whether through travel, fashion, or contemporary art movements, I strive to infuse fresh ideas into my work, ensuring that my creations resonate with a modern audience while staying true to my roots.

Today Artist of my age, have been accepting technology in order to do their work more effieciently

Every since the introduction of Adobe Photoshop in 1989, I have expand my education.

Now, we have a tool I called AI, an assistant to anyone that uses it correctly. I for one will not ask AI to create an image and sell that to a client. I only use it as ideas, photo-references to create my own image on paper or canvas.
